About the A201K5BA

The A201K5BA Contactor is a front connected, non-reversing, magnetic contactor from Eaton Cutler-Hammer. This Class A201 contactor belongs to the Eaton Cutler-Hammer A200 series of magnetic contactors. It has 2 poles, a 600 Volts voltage rating, and 270 Amps of current rating. The voltage rating of the contactor’s coil is 120 Volts at 60 Hertz frequency or 110 Volts at 50 Hertz frequency. The maximum UL standard Horsepower ratings are 75 Horsepower at 208 Volts, 100 Horsepower at 240 Volts, 200 Horsepower at 480 Volts, and 200 Horsepower at 600 Volts. It is a NEMA Size 5 contactor with 25 pounds of weight.

 

The A201K5BA AC magnetic contactor uses a clapper design with straight-through wiring. To keep the contacting surfaces clean, the contacts close with an optimum wiping action. The contactor base molding material is a high impact, non-hygroscopic glass polyester material. This contactor can be front-mounted. The wiring can be done on a steel panel. To assure optimum contactor operation, select the coil from the multi-voltage ratings according to the actual system voltage. There are 2 main designs available and they are the latched design and the DC operated design for this A201K5BA contactor. The latched design helps to close the contactor when there is a power failure or extreme voltage fluctuation. If the contactor requires quiet operation at a low dropout voltage, the DC operated device can be used. The low dropout voltage characteristic may be required where the voltage applied to the contactor coil is reduced by the effects of motor inrush current. When this A201K5BA AC magnetic contactor is used in combination with other contactors, it is mechanically interlocked to stop closing one when another contactor is already closed.
