The Eaton Cutler-Hammer A201K5CA contactor is a front connected, non-reversing contactor that belongs to the Eaton A200 contactor series. This Class A201 contactor is a NEMA Size 5 magnetic contactor with 3 poles. Its voltage and current ratings are 600 Volts and 270 Amps, respectively. The voltage rating of the contact coil is 120 Volts at 60 Hertz frequency or 110 Volts at 50 Hertz frequency. The A201K5CA magnetic contactor has a long life because of its silver alloy contacts. This contactor comes with armature pivoting on the dual needle bearings and with a front clapper design for accurate contact alignment. It has accommodations for additional auxiliary contacts. Its floating magnets assure quiet operation while both the stationary and moving magnet assemblies are flexibly mounted to ensure proper sealing. Both helical compression springs and flat-leaf springs are found in the back of each magnet part. The latched design and the DC operated design are the 2 main designs that are available for the A201K5CA contactor. The latch assembly has an AC trip solenoid, a mechanical latch mechanism, and a clearing contact. The DC assembly has a DC operating coil with an integrally mounted rectifier and shorting contact. Make sure that the springs, which require no maintenance, are properly seated on the molded crossbar assembly. When a higher coil current is involved, an interposing control relay is required. For this contactor, pressure type terminals are available as separate piece parts that must be assembled on the front of the load terminal.
