About the MS-598

Eaton Cutler-Hammer manufactures the MS-598 circuit breaker as a molded case circuit breaker. This circuit breaker is part of the Eaton MS Circuit Breakers series. It provides high performance and it operates as a thermal magnetic circuit breaker which is engineered to offer thermal as well as short-circuit protection to a variety of equipment and conductors. This circuit breaker belongs to the 140G product line and it features a high-speed blow open action which comprises quick make-break action contacts for reducing arcing and protecting the contact surface. The Eaton Cutler-Hammer MS-598 molded case circuit breaker has a current rating of 125 Amps at 600 Volts AC. It can also be used for branch circuits along with main circuits with a UL operating voltage of 600 Volts AC. The power rating of this device is 25 kilo-amps at maximum breaking capacity. It can also withstand a rated impulse voltage of 8000 Volts AC or 8 kilo-volts.

The Eaton Cutler-Hammer MS Circuit Breakers series MS-598 molded case circuit breaker comes with 20 Amps of fixed thermal trip rating and it has a magnetic trip rating of 500 Amps at maximum. This unit has an electrical lifespan of about 120 operations per hour and a mechanical lifespan of about 240 operations per hour. The MS-598 molded case circuit breaker comes with non-adjustable thermal magnetic trip that is designed to provide magnetic and thermal trip actions through the use of bimetallic strips as well as electromagnet coils which are connected in a series with line current. This circuit breaker comes with an 80 percent efficient continuous load rating at 40 degrees Celsius. Additionally, this unit is certified for compliance with the CE, CCC, CSA, and UL standards and certifications. It has an approximate weight of 2.4 pounds.
