About the FD3175

The FD3175 is a fixed thermal-magnetic trip type circuit breaker from Eaton Cutler-Hammer. The circuit breaker has its interrupt capped at 35 kAIC at a voltage of 480 Volts AC, and 65 kAIC at 240 Volts AC. the FD3175 is of the FD family and it has an F-frame type. The FD3175 is housed in a molded case which is factory-sealed, eliminating the need for field-installed internal components. The maximum operating voltage it can take when protecting systems using a DC power source is 250 Volts DC, and it is 600 Volts AC when used to protect systems drawing power from an AC power source. The FD3175 Westinghouse molded case circuit breaker has 3 poles, its maximum operating current is calibrated at 175 Amps (maximum) and it belongs to the Cutler-Hammer Series C of molded case circuit breakers.

In addition to measuring 4.9 x 5 x 7.4 inches, the FD3175 has a net weight of 4 pounds. The circuit breaker can be mounted on either a panel or a DIN rail. When mounting the FD3175 on a panel board, only load-end support mounting holes are required. Having an F-frame type, the dead front cover should be cut out to correct escutcheon dimensions. When mounting the FD3175, after following all pre-mounting procedures (inspecting the circuit breaker), position the circuit breaker on the mounting surface then install mounting screws, nuts, and washers. Tighten the screws, taking care not to exceed the rated torque of 3.16 N-m. Note that power should be connected when all the mounting is complete to avoid injury to personnel and damage to other devices in the system.
