The Eaton GD3090 is a G frame circuit breaker with a molded case and with a 90 Amps current rating. To prevent death or serious injury to the installers and service technicians and to prevent damage to the equipment, it is highly recommended to install and service the GD3090 when the breaker and connected electrical equipment are powered off. The 3-pole GD3090 is a Series C circuit breaker. It is a complete breaker which includes a non-interchangeable trip unit which is of the fixed thermal and magnetic type. The voltage ratings for the GD3090 are 480 Volts AC and 250 and 125 Volts DC. The AC voltage frequencies that are supported are 50 and 60 Hertz. The interrupt ratings for the GD3090 are as follows: 10 kAIC at 250 Volts DC, 14 kAIC at 480 Volts AC, and 65 kAIC at 240 Volts AC.
The G-Frame GD3090 has A weight of 2.1 pounds and the following dimensions: 6.37 inches in height, 3.62 inches in width, and 3.62 inches in depth. Aluminum line and load terminals are provided with the GD3090. The screw head type is 5/32 inch hexagonal. Aluminum or copper wire with #10 to 1/0 AWG is recommended for use with the GD3090. To avoid potential overheating of terminals, which can lead to spurious tripping and to breaker damage, an appropriate joint compound should be used with aluminum wires. A padlockable handle, a shunt trip, and a lock dog are accessories which are available for use with the GD3090. To comply with the UL standards, the GD3090 is factory sealed after accessory installation.
