About the KD2200

The KD2200 is an Eaton Cutler-Hammer (Division of Eaton Corporation) molded case circuit breaker. This MCCB is part of the C Series circuit breakers. The KD2200 has a current rating of 200 Amps (at 40 degrees Celsius). The device has 2 poles that can be supplied with a maximum power of 600 Volts AC or 250 Volts DC. The interrupting capacity of the KD2200 is 35 kAIC at 480 Volts AC and 10 kAIC at 250 Volts DC. These values put this MCCB to the standard interrupting capacity class of circuit breakers. The item is factory pre-assembled and it consists of a molded case, terminals, and a trip unit. Mount and fix the KD2200 to panelboards and switchboards. Once installed, it will provide continuous protection to all the connected devices.

It provides effective protection when it comes to overcurrents and short-circuits. Its protection is based on the thermal trip element (for overcurrents) and the magnetic trip element (for short-circuits). When the electromechanical trip mechanism is actuated, the handle that is visible on the front of the MCCB goes into the middle (“Trip”) position. If this happens, users should check their equipment for the trip’s cause. When the obstacle causing the trip situation is cleared, users should reset the device by pulling the handle down to the “OFF” position and then up to the “ON” position. The Eaton KD2200 is packed in a KD frame housing that has dimensions of 5.50 inches x 10.13 inches x 4.10 inches (150 millimeters x 257 millimeters x 104 millimeters). Its shipping weight is approximated at 4.5 kilograms (10 pounds). The device can be mounted either horizontally or vertically.
