About the KDB3225

The Eaton Cutler-Hammer KDB3225 Molded Case Circuit Breaker is an assembled circuit breaker in the Frame K, series of thermal-magnetic circuit breakers with non-interchangeable trip units, used for providing overload and short-circuits protection to connected conductors and devices. It consists of a frame made of insulated enclosure, housing, a thermal and magnetic trip unit, and line and load side terminals. The KDB3225 is a 3-pole designed breaker with 225 Amps nominal current rating, and with a standard interrupting rating of 35 KAIC. It is designed for applications with the maximum line voltage of 600 Volt AC, and it is suitable for reverse feed use.

The KDB3225 is supplied with TA300K standard line and load end terminal, with terminal covers, and during field wiring, a terminal is attached to each pole. Its trip unit is designed to be closed to adjustment, and it is made of a bimetal strip and electromagnetic in series with line current. It provides trip action using the bimetal thermal strip, which it deflects as it is heated by a prolonging current overload, and an electromagnetic in series with line load, which will cause an instantaneous trip action when the current exceeds the designated value. The KDB3225 is designed for use at a temperature below 40 degrees Celsius, and for use at higher operating value, it must be recalibrated for higher ambient temperature. It is designed for optimum use at a relative humidity range of 0 to 95%, and it can still retain complete function at a maximum altitude of 6000 feet. The KDB3225 is designed to meet standards like AS, IEC, BS, and UL, and it has an approximate shipping weight of 5.5 kilograms.
