About the KDB3250

The KDB3250 Molded Case Circuit Breaker by Eaton Cutler-Hammer is a series C, Frame K, thermal-magnetic circuit breaker designed to provide accurate and reliable current overload and short-circuit protection for devices like motors, motor starters, and conductors. It is designed with line and load side terminals, and with 3-pole wiring design, for easy and simple field wiring. The KDB3250 is designed for systems with a 600 Volt AC maximum operating voltage and has a continuous current rating of 250 Amps with an interrupting current limit rating of 35 KAIC at 480 Volt AC. The KDB3250 is supplied as a complete circuit breaker with a frame, trip unit, and standard terminals. It has terminals made of Copper/Aluminium conductors, and a frame made of the insulated enclosure. It also has a non-adjustable trip unit, which provides thermal and magnetic trip action I the event of very high current and prolongs overload.

The KDB3250 uses a bimetal strip heated by a current load for thermal trip action, and it also uses an electromagnet which is placed in series with line current for magnetic trip action. It is designed with a quick make/break, trip free operating mechanism, which provide an operating platform for breaker’s contacts, and also indicate the breakers position (either ON, OFF, or Tripped). The KDB3250 is designed to operate under a temperature limit of 40 degree Celsius, above which the carrying will derate below the nominal rating, and it can be used at a non-condensing and non-corrosive 0 to 95% relative humidity condition. The KDB3250 weighs approximately 5.2 kilograms (terminal and frame inclusive), and it has a total dimension of 149.7 x 257.3 x 104.1 millimeters.
