About the HLD2400

The Eaton Cutler-Hammer HLD2400 Series C Molded Case Circuit Breaker is a completely assembled circuit breaker in the Frame L series of circuit breakers with interchangeable trip units that are used for providing robust and instantaneous protection from short-circuits and overloads. The HLD2400 has a 100% rated trip unit, like all Frame L devices, and it comes with a 2-pole wiring configuration. It has a continuous current rating of 400 Amps, and it provides 65 kAIC of interrupt rating at 480 Volts AC. The HLD2400 is designed for 600 Volts AC maximum applications, and it can also be used to protect appliances like motor starters and motors from short-circuits. It comes already assembled with frames, terminals, and adjustable internal components (trip units).

The HLD2400 has both line and load side terminals made of copper/aluminum conductors designed to meet CSA standards, and it provides for an easy wiring process. It provides instantaneous trip action by using adjustable magnetic trip elements, whose value can be adjusted to up to 10 times the nominal current rating, and it also provides a thermal trip action by using bimetal strips heated by a load current. The HLD2400 has a trip-free operating mechanism, which is designed prevent the breaker contacts from being held closed against an abnormal circuit condition, and which also provides a means of opening and closing the breaker’s contacts. It has an operating ambient temperature of 40 degrees Celsius, and it can be used in a non-condensing relative humidity condition of 0 to 95%. The HLD2400 has UL, CSA, AS, BS, and CE certifications, and it weighs approximately 8.2 kilograms.
