About the HMDLB3800

The Eaton Cutler-Hammer HMDLB3800 is a circuit breaker with a fixed thermal and a fixed magnetic trip unit. The circuit breaker uses the TA800MA2 terminals for its line and load standard terminals. As described by the National Electrical Code, a circuit breaker such as the HMDLB3800 is a device that should use non-automatic and automatic means to protect a system against overloads and short circuits without damaging itself. The HMDLB3800 has a non-replaceable trip unit. The circuit breaker has a molded case which is resistant to fungus and moisture and belongs to Series C of the circuit breakers manufactured by Eaton. For the connections, the circuit breaker allows feed-thru connections. The HMDLB3800 has a maximum continuous current rating of 800 Amps. Additionally, the Eaton HMDLB3800 has a maximum rated voltage of 600 Volts AC and has a high interrupt rating of 65 kiloamps interrupt capacity at 480 Volts AC, 100 kiloamps interrupt capacity at 240 Volts AC and 35 kiloamps interrupt capacity at 600 Volts AC. The HMDLB3800 has an M Frame size.

Having an M Frame size, the HMDLB3800 qualifies for reverse feed use (when factory assembled) and it bears the HACR rating. Additionally, circuit breakers with an M Frame size are available in their individual parts (frame, terminals, AND trip unit) allowing for user assembly. The HMDLB3800, as with other Eaton molded case circuit breakers, is CE marked. The Eaton HMDLB3800 complete molded case circuit breaker has 3 poles. When the HMDLB3800 is used to protect 250 Volts DC-powered systems, it has a minimum time constant of 3 milliseconds and 8 milliseconds at 10 kiloamps and 22 kiloamps, respectively. The HMDLB3800 measures 7.25 inches x 10.25 inches x 18.19 inches for the height, width, and depth, respectively. When the circuit breaker is to be installed in environments with a higher temperature (more than 40 degrees Celsius), or a different operating frequency, special calibrations can be requested when ordering the HMDLB3800.
